Shantanu delivered a lecture
on sports journalism. He spoke about the difference between
coverage of sports for a news channels and a 24-hour sports
channel. Shantanu, who had spent a few years in print before
entering television, had a very long association with TWI. He is
currently associated with Headlines Today. Shantanu has 17 years
of sports journalism behind him.
He shared his experiences with students and elaborated how to
plan a live coverage. He explained about the camera positions,
special techniques and equipment used not only for getting
specialized shots but also all the graphics and analysis during
a match.
Rajiv Ratan and Sudhanshu Shekhar, PGP students of CMAC,
screened their story on Goal keeping rule changes in hockey for
Shantanu. They got a great feedback. He said, "the graphics
need some improvement but for students to have picked up this
topic and manage to get interviews and these kings of shots is
very good." This learning experience improved the
perspective of CMAC students as regards electronic journalism.
