Sudha Sadanand, TV Anchor, Reporter
Sudha Sadanand raised 'CMAC Colloquium Series' to another high in imparting industry knowledge to the CMAC students on September 16 at College of Media & Communication, Delhi. Sudha, till very recently the face on Times Now prime time along with Mini Menon and Arnab Goswami, has been associated with the Television industry for the past 12 years. She has anchored news as well as programs and has also reported and produced programs. She has also been a prime time Anchor for India TV . She started her career with Business India Television . She has experience of publishing industry as well. She has worked with Penguin India. She shared her varied experiences with different spectrums to explain the nuances of TV anchoring and journalism to the CMAC students.

Sudha Sadanand had the students of CMAC engrossed into a very animated and enlightening lecture "News Anchoring - The Challenges & Pressures." Talking about the importance of reading, Sudha said "the present generation lacks habit of reading." She enacted the pressure of a newsroom when a news anchor switches from one news item to break another, which is diametrically opposite: from an entertainment news to a mishap occurred somewhere.

"Anchoring is all about hard work not GLAMOR," said she, while debunking the myth of instant fame and glamor attached to the profession. Success in TV Anchoring is not just a natural consequence of stunning beauty and great voice; it's sheer hard work, tireless effort and extensive knowledge that prepare a perfect news anchor for routine crunch situations. She explained that the reporting experience is more enriching than TV Anchoring. Taking her argument ahead she said, "leading anchors in the industry have reporting experience." CMAC students opined she came, captivated and enlightened us. One lecture did not seem enough for CMAC students and they put in a request for another lecture in the coming months.
