Mr. Pathak, an eminent journalist and human right activist, has a long list of achievements. He started his career as a journalist in local newspaper and risen to the level of Managing Editor of a well-known Hindi monthly 'Awami Dagar.' He has experience of various media streams. He worked with All India Radio (Ranchi & Delhi) and Doordarshan (Ranchi) as a newsreader and broadcaster. He is General Secretary of PUCL - Jharkhand.

Mr. Pathak shared his experience on the topic 'Journalism - A Challenging Career' at CMAC on 2 nd of August 2006. He expounded the ethical and practical challenges that upcoming journalist face. He enumerated the essentials for a successful career in media. Apart from all these he also discussed on the economic a social problem facing the nation. He further elaborated his experiences as a social worker and human right activist in different part of the nation especially Jharkhand and neighboring states.
